Hi,
I have installed in the PLC panel a earth fault monitor. Always we have some grounding problem it gives an alarm. But I have no idea how it works.
Does anyone knows its working principles?

Hello, IIRC, the circuit is not grounded. A slight negative voltage is applied to the - side and then the + side is compared to ground and the - side is compared to ground. If no difference of potential exist then the + or - side is grounded. Of course I could be wrong. ;) Good luck, Mark |
